Most ecommerce businesses still hire the way the 2010s told them to. A merchandiser. A copywriter. A social media manager. A community manager. A junior analyst. A part-time creative. The cost stack adds up before the revenue stack starts.

27aDay was built on a different bet: that an AI operating system could do the operational work of a 12-person team, and the human in the loop only needed to set strategy, approve creative, and own the relationships. If the bet was right, the company would compound. If the bet was wrong, the founder would be back in a job within a quarter.

27aDay started as a thesis: golfers have great taste in gear and bad luck with timing. The deals are real, but they're scattered across a dozen affiliate networks and disappear in hours. A native iOS app could solve it, if the app could be fed faster than a human team could feed it.

I did not write a hiring plan. I wrote a system prompt. The app was on the App Store before I would have finished interviewing for a director of engineering.
